About the Pomona Concert Band
The Pomona Concert Band was organized in November of 1947 by G. Stanton Selby. Since that time, the Band has become an important part of all music activities in Pomona. The Band performs at major civic events, gives concerts for neighboring cities, and presents a summer series of nine weekly concerts in Ganesha Park at the G. Stanton Selby Bandshell. All performances are free to the public.
The Band rehearses and performs throughout the year, and is built basically on adult membership.
However, outstanding high school and college-age musicians are invited to audition for membership.
The Band is under the direction of Linda W. Taylor, Conductor and Musical Director, along with Assistant
Directors Dr. Jorge Garcia and Kerry Kline. Band members come from Pomona and more than twenty nearby
communities to make music together. You are welcome to visit our rehearsals on Tuesday evenings from
7:30 to 9:30 PM at the Community
Center in Ganesha Park, 1575 N. White Avenue in Pomona California.
