Pomona Concert Band Getting Ready to Start Up Again - Posted on June 1st, 2021

Pomona Concert Band Getting Ready to Start Up Again

Dear Friends of the Pomona Concert Band and Supporters,

I hope you are looking forward to coming to concerts, in the near future.  We have been silenced way too long and we don't want you to think we are not coming back.  We hope to be able to get together again within the next month or so, barring any further Covid restrictions.  We will not be able to present our regular concert series this summer, however.  It will take a couple of months to get the band back to its former expertise.

We will have to rehearse in smaller groups, at first, in order to maintain the required 6 foot distance between players.  Once we are allowed to sit a bit closer, we can rehearse the full band together and properly prepare the music that you love to hear.  At the end of the summer, we may be able to do one concert out in the bandshell, before it gets cold.  We again will have to wait and see.

We are definitely looking forward to presenting our annual Christmas Concert at Palomares Community Center on Friday, December 10th or perhaps the 17th.  Keep checking our website for further announcements.  This Christmas concert will kick off the band's 75th Anniversary, which is in 2022.  We will have much to celebrate, and we want you all to be part of that celebration.

Until we meet again, please stay safe and in the meantime be sure to find the band on YouTube and listen to music from past concerts from our website's Audio Gallery.

Most sincerely,

Linda W. Taylor, Musical Director and Conductor
Dr. Jorge Garcia, Assistant Director
Kerry Kline, Assistant Director
Allan Small, President of the Pomona Concert Band
